What if you could live in your values?
What if one house could change the way we think about home building?
What if one house could save an acre of trees?
What if one house could protect a watershed?
What if one house could stop soil erosion?
What if one house could help reverse global warming?
What if one house could raise a community out of poverty?
What if you could live in a bamboo house?

world reflecting creative solutions.

Bamboo has an important role to play
in restoring balance to our planet’s
climate system.

Deciding on a home requires
careful consideration.
Choosing a bamboo home makes a significant difference.

It counts as a vote for sustainability, requires out of the box thinking, and
a passion to live in your values.

of Florida. While in undergraduate school
at Washington and Lee in Virginia, his Art
Professor first introduced him to bamboo
as the metaphor for the perfected human
                                                                       being.
David has been devoted to his yoga

After re-locating to Maui, Hawaii in 1988, David co-founded Bamboo Living with Jeffree Trudeau in
1995 because '' It was simply the right thing to do'', he says, ''I couldn't go on designing homes
unconsciously. We set out to find a better big picture way to serve the Earth and Humanity''.

We invite you to watch Nick's video on Sustainable Living and Bamboo Homes

Building with bamboo. Building with nature.

Nick Oosterveen designs and builds luxurious, beautiful, sustainable
bamboo homes. They range in size from 1,000 sf to 1,2000 sf.
Every home is completely off the grid, incorperating the latest Wind, Solar
and Water generating and conservation technologies.

His vision for sustainability in Hawaii extends into the landscaping as his
homes come with their own unique Permaculture based ecosystems
such as Edible landscaping, Food Forests and Aquaponics.

Together with Architect David Sands, a LEED accredited professional,
co-founder of Bamboo Living, he creates a life style,
that balances form and function, nature and modern amenities, reflecting
the inherent beauty of the land.
DID YOU KNOW;

That one bamboo house can save an acre of trees,
one bamboo house can protect a whole watershed.
That a bamboo house can stop soil erosion and help reverse global
warming.
Imagine that one bamboo house can raise an entire community out of
poverty?

YOU COULD LIVE IN THAT BAMBOO HOUSE!
